80 million PLN for energy communities — an important signal for local governments and businesses
The Civic Energy Forum, held in Wrocław, showed that civic energy is entering the stage of more systemic support.

The announcement of the NFOŚIGW programme for energy communities with a budget of PLN 80 million is an important signal for local governments, entrepreneurs and local economic ecosystems.

From the perspective of the IZOB Employers' Union, this is not just a matter of financing RES. This is an opportunity to develop local cooperation models that can strengthen energy security, reduce energy costs and support green-digit transformation of the economy.

However, it will be crucial to prepare projects that are realistically feasible: organisationally, legally, technically and economically.

The energy community is not just about installations, production sources or energy storage. It is primarily a model of governance, cooperation and long-term coordination of interests of local governments, entrepreneurs, residents, operators and funding institutions.

Therefore, the most important question today is not only "how many resources will be available?" but: are local communities ready to turn funding into sustainable, partnership and management projects?

As the Association of Employers, the Green Business Responsibility Initiative (IZOB) we see an important area of cooperation in this area — where civic energy combines with energy efficiency, the closed-loop economy, digitisation and the development of local competences.
