PLN 1.4 billion for defence and dual-use technologies. Are Polish companies ready?
In the autumn of 2026, the first recruitments are to be launched to enable entrepreneurs to raise funding for investments and R & D. The total allocation of these activities is PLN 1.4 billion – PLN 400 million for the production of dual-use items and PLN 1 billion for defence technologies under STEP.

As the Association of Employers of the Green Business Responsibility Initiative (IZOB), together with the National Key Cluster of Innovative Technologies in the Production of "CINNOMATECH", we encourage you to prepare not only members of our organizations, but also technological companies, start-ups, scientific units and potential consortium partners.
The development of critical technologies and dual-use can strengthen not only security, but also resilience, innovation and competitiveness of Polish industry.

Credit for the manufacture of dual-use items
An instrument for SMEs planning to implement or increase the production scale of intellectual property dual-use solutions.

Admission deadline: 29 October 2026 – 28 January 2027
Allocation: PLN 400 million
Beneficiaries: SMEs

STEP Critical Technology Support Fund – Investments in defence technology sector
Support is intended to cover, among other things, the expansion of plants, the purchase of modern machinery, the launching of new production lines and the strengthening of chains of critical technology values.

Scheduled appointment date: November 2026 – January 2027
Allocation: PLN 500 million
Beneficiaries: SMEs and large enterprises

STEP Critical Technology Support Fund – R & D projects in the defence sector
The recruitment will target developing actors with breakthrough solutions in the areas of sensors, autonomous systems, cybersecurity and advanced data analytics.
The programme is intended to cover two paths:
➡️ Path A – innovation: 250 million PLN
➡️ Path B – strategic independence: 250 million PLN

Scheduled appointment date: November 2026 – January 2027
Beneficiaries: SMEs, large enterprises and consortia

It is a good time to assess the project's readiness, technological maturity, intellectual property rights and the possibility of building an industrial and scientific partnership.
From the perspective of the employers' association, together with the Association of Innovative Technology Clusters in Manufacturing (Cinnomatech), we will monitor further information on recruitments and funding possibilities, including acceleration programmes such as “Startup Booster Poland – Deeptech Goes Dual”.
